There are a number of ways in which you can customize the look and feel of your computer, and it is possible to spend a great deal of time making different aspect of the interface match and co-ordinate.
ColorSync is a free tool that can be used to automatically change the color of your Start screen background based on the desktop image you have chosen — no more manual color matching needed!
You can download a copy of the program by paying a visit to the Winaero website and clicking the grey Download button towards the bottom of the screen. On the next page that loads, click the second grey Download button.
Save the zip file to the folder of your choice and then extract the contents using your preferred decompression tool. You can then launch the program by double clicking the executable — just click More Info followed by Run anyway if a Windows SmartScreen message appears.
Right click the notification area icon and make sure that the Run at startup option is ticked. With this done, right click the icon again and tick Aero -> Start Screen.
You should now choose a desktop theme that includes a number of background image. Right click and empty section of the desktop and select the Personalize option. There are a couple of built-in themes that include multiple backgrounds — Flowers, and Lines and colors — so select one. You should also ensure that Automatic is selected in the Color section.
From this point on, whenever your desktop background changes, so will the color of your window borders and the background color of the Start Screen — hit the Windows key to check it out!
Enjoy!
