You may have noticed that when you start to type a password in Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer 10 and 11 there is a little button that pops up. Looking like a wifi icon, when you click this button the password that was previously hidden behind dots or asterisks is suddenly revealed.
On one hand this could be seen as a handy option, but on the other it is something of a security issue — it is feasible that someone could click the button after you have typed you password and learn your login details. Obviously this is something we want to avoid, so here’s how to go about disabling this feature.
Fire up the Registry Editor by pressing the Windows key and R at the same type, typing regedit and pressing Enter. Then you need to navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\. Now click Edit > New > Key and type CredUI before hitting Enter.

Select the newly created key and click Edit > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name the new item DisablePasswordReveal and press Enter. Double click DisablePasswordReveal and set the value to 1 before clicking OK.

If you ever change your mind and decide that you would like to reinstate the feature, you can simply change the value of the key to 0, or just delete the key altogether.
